For more than 125 years, ConocoPhillips has worked to become a fully integrated energy company with innovation and environmentally sound business practices at the core of its operations. Today, ConocoPhillips brings together a unique blend of resources, innovation and project management skills to develop, build and operate power generation facilities in North America.
We're committed to providing innovative power solutions that reduce fuel consumption, protect the environment and provide reliable power to both industrial customers and the community.
Low-Cost, Reliable Power
The development, construction and operation of a successful power plant requires integrated solutions that bring together all the right technology and expertise. From fuel selection and system design to financing and project management, ConocoPhillips' team of experienced professionals are ready to meet the unique demands of today's power market. And because each customer's needs are different, ConocoPhillips provides tailored solutions to fit the needs of each job.
Protecting the Environment
ConocoPhillips also works daily to balance the growing demands for power with the impact on people and the environment. The selection of fuel is critical to that balance. That's why ConocoPhillips advocates larger scale cogeneration plants that combine the environmental advantage of abundant, clean-burning natural gas with the economic efficiency of cogeneration. ConocoPhillips also is dedicated to building facilities with the smallest possible "footprint," reducing the use of natural resources and capital expenditures.
Cogeneration Projects
Currently, ConocoPhillips' natural gas-fired cogeneration development projects supply power and steam to industrial and chemical manufacturers in Texas with excess power sold in the Electric Reliability Council of Texas and the Entergy sub-region of the Southeastern Reliability Council. These projects include:
- Ingleside Cogeneration, L.P. A joint venture with Oxychem capable of producing 440 MW of electricity and 1.1 million pounds of steam per hour.
- Sabine River Works A 420 MW cogeneration plant at DuPont's Sabine River Works facility.
